Description
Deep red. Heady aromas of dark berry preserves, cherry-cola, vanilla and candied licorice, with a spicy topnote. Velvety and seamless in texture, offering sappy, penetrating blueberry and cherry flavors that stain the palate. Strikingly intense but in no way heavy, with supple tannins and excellent finishing power and persistence.

Tannic and tightly wound, this has an astringent resistance, but because the flavors are so powerful, it’s already delicious. Intense notes of raspberry jam, cherry pie, anisette, Dr. Pepper are all present, and a rich, sweet jacket of smoky sandalwood adds further complexity. Give it 5–6 years in the cellar, but it could last for 15 years if you enjoy mature wines.
