The Clos Saint Denis of Louis Jadot is a powerful wine, with a dark colour showing strong aromas of cherries, black current but also spices typical of our terroir. The tannins are both powerful and elegant.

The Clos Saint Denis matches very well duck and game as well as french cheese like Cîteaux or Reblochon.

Good full medium red. Vibrant aromas of red fruits, dried rose, minerals and sweet oak. Wonderfully sweet but with stony minerality giving the mid-palate a light touch. Offers an uncanny blend of strength and elegance; tangy and penetrating. Really classic young Clos Saint-Denis with outstanding precision and verve. The floral, rising finish features very fine-grained tannins and mouth-staining persistence. Score: 93-96 points -- International Wine Cellar

(From 90+ year old vines that are worked by horse). In contrast to the nose of the Clos de la Roche, this is notably more floral and more elegant with ripe yet higher-toned aromas of essence of red pinot fruit that combines with subtle spice and warm earth nuances. There is a velvety mouth feel yet good precision to the wonderfully rich flavors that possess a high level of phenolic maturity before terminating in a refined, pure and delicately balanced finish.
