A mini Hermitage from granite slopes in the commune of Gervans, the 2016 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Roure is outstanding. Deep plum and black olive notes mark the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple, velvety and rich. This beauty shows wonderful harmony and savoriness, turning silky on the long finish.

Opaque ruby. Highly expressive blackberry, floral pastille, smoky bacon and potpourri scents are complemented by a powerful mineral overtone. Seamless and energetic in the mouth, offering dense black and blue fruit liqueur, spicecake, smoked meat and floral pastille flavors and a strong kick of exotic spices. Finishes with repeating mineral, smoke and floral character, well-knit tannins and noteworthy tenacity. Drink: 2024-2033
