Join us on Tuesday, March 21st from 5 to 6:30pm to taste a selection of unique & hard to come by single-malt Scotch Whiskies imported to BC by Icon Fine Wines & Spirits. Lee Hanson, Spirits Ambassador with Icon, will bring his deep knowledge of Scotch Whisky to lead the tasting.

Lee Hanson has been in the wine and spirits business for over 27 years. Starting in restaurants at too young an age sparked a life long passion for fine wines. This lead to a number of sommelier positions in Calgary and the Caribbean as well as cellar hand opportunities at 3 California wineries. In all of these locales Lee was able to explore the area by foot, a love of distance running is an amazing introduction to what a town has to offer. Upon returning to Canada a smoldering interest in Scotch whisky was stoked when Lee had a hand in relaunching the Bruichladdich distillery of Islay. The bold and honest approach of these whiskies and the exposure to single cask-single malts would become the cornerstone of Lee's working life. In between incredible travel opportunities and many kilometers on foot, Lee found the time to start a family, and has the love of 4 daughters to fill his days. In 2013 Lee founded Barrel Hunter Import and Brokerage, working with family owned distilleries and wineries. A new partnership was formed with Select Wines in 2019, as the Spirit Ambassador. Lee now has the honour of sharing the Hunter Laing whiskies as well as Tesseron Cognac and more all across Canada.
Shipping & Returns
We use Canada Post for the majority of deliveries and a courier for those nearest our location. If you are not at home when Canada Post attempts delivery of your package, they will leave a note with the nearest pickup location. By law, we cannot ship outside of the province and packages delivered by Canada Post cannot be left on the doorstep. Orders for downtown Vancouver may arrive the same or next day depending on time of order. Order cut-off is generally 10am PST on a best-effort basis. We will contact you if we require more information to set up delivery.
