The sweet, yellow fruit-scented 1998 Gewurztraminer "Hugel" Hommage a Jean Hugel is a plump, opulent wine. Its super-ripe apple-flavored character is warm (slightly alcoholic) and will require some cellaring to harmonize. It is thick-textured, medium to full-bodied, and has a minerally, stony quality in its long, somewhat alcoholic finish. Drink between 2002-2008.
