Fermented for three weeks and aged for 21 months in wooden fermenters and used 500-liter oak barrels, the 2015 Burgenland St Laurent opens with a super fine, crystalline and aromatic bouquet of red and dark fruits, nougat and violet aromas. Silky, pure and fresh on the palate, this is a beautifully clear, finessed, elegant and Pinot-like St Laurent with fine tannins and structuring mineral freshness. Bottled with a moderate 12% alcohol, if you guessed this was a banal light wine, you're completely wrong. This is a beautiful St Laurent that should be great with roasted fish, white meat, Wiener Schnitzel, Roast beef and cheese. Tasted October 2018.
