Girard 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mtn. 750ml

Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grown exclusively on Diamond Mountain, with heavier volcanic clay hillside soils, this wine derives its character from this distinctive microclimate. Our winemaker, Glenn Hugo, has years of experience in producing award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon from this sub-appellation. 

The 2009 vintage went exceptionally well considering the fairly mild weather. A pair of strong storms in October led many wineries to harvest earlier than usual. Glenn, however, chose to delay picking to ensure dynamite colors, extraction and flavor. 

Aromatics reveal bright dark fruit, nutmeg, black pepper and tobacco on the nose. On the pallet lie notes of candied black cherries, cinnamon and mocha, accenting the well-integrated tannins.
