Richer and more backward is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaker’s Reserve Devil’s Inkstand. Its dense purple color is followed by classic, earthy, crème de cassis notes intermixed with a touch of graphite, moderately high tannin, and a hint of oak. Still youthful, it requires another 1-2 years of bottle age, and should evolve over the following decade or more.
