Tannat is usually used as a constituent of various Southern-French blends. It is rarely seen outside of France as a single-varietal wine, but it has found a home in Argentina, where it is made in an up-front and fruit-driven style. It produces a medium to full-bodied red wine with enticing notes of chocolate, mint and blackberry which are complemented on the palate by spicy oak and hints of vanilla. It offers great fruit aromas and flavours. Open an hour before serving to fully enjoy this wine. It is an ideal accompaniment to robust meat dishes, chops or barbeque ribs.
