This wine is a blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah grapes. Nero d'Avola is sometimes called Calabrese (referring to Southern Italy) and is arguably the most important and characteristic grape of Sicily. Dating back to the Phoenicians, this grape has been harvested from the warm Mediterranean climate influenced by constant sea breezes. The Syrah adds fruity and sweet characteristics which results in a delicious blend with red fruits, chocolate, and raspberry tones. This wine is medium-bodied and not overly tannic which makes it suitable for summertime sipping. Enjoy on its own or with grilled meats and called kinds of pastas, risottos, and mature cheeses.
