The Sabathi family has a long tradition of viticulture dating back to 1650. In 1992, Erwin Sabathi Jr. joined his parents' business, and the family winery has been flourishing ever since. Today, Erwin and his wife Patrizia are at the helm of the organically-certified operation. Their philosophy is centered on the provenance of the wine and the work of nature. As such, all grapes are handpicked due to the steep slopes of the vineyards, allowing only traditional manual harvesting. The couple prioritizes quality, and hand harvesting is integral to achieving their goal.
The winery's most notable grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, which enjoy the highest international standing. Erwin Sabathi's excellence with the Chardonnay grape variety earned him the title of "Winemaker of the Year" by Falstaff in 2016.
