Intense and dark purple in colour, indicative of a vintage year for Merlot in Elgin. Obvious dark plums and violets on the nose, with nuances of wild bramble and fynbos. Soft sweet entry, medium to full bodied, and slightly savoury on the palate with hints of white pepper and dark chocolate. The refined palate is beautifully balanced with velvety tannins and subtle mineral notes. The true glory of Elgin is expressed in this elegant Merlot. An expression of its vintage, this 2013 Elgin Vintners Merlot is one of our finest produced to date and is a fine example of what Elgin Merlot’s can deliver.
