The 2016 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Spätlese shows a clear and flinty bouquet of weathered slate and ripe Riesling berries. This is very delicate, highly refined and a typical profile for this prestigious Brauneberg grand cru. Medium to full-bodied, enormously lush and round, with an endless flow of juice and minerals, this is a silky textured, smooth, super sexy and highly refined Spätlese that's almost impossible not to fall in love with. I don't know how many sirens Ulysses needed to get lost, but a fuder of this Spätlese would have been enough for sure. This has 8% alcohol and 84 grams per liter of residual sugar. Tasted February 2018.
