"Laurents three barrels of 2008 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots Vieilles Vignes for a bit more about whose location and vine lineage consult my review of the 2006 in issue 187 displays liqueur-like richness and purity of dark berry fruit allied to Latakia tobacco-like smokiness; cocoa powder; ginger; peat moss; and decadent lily flower. This dark, decadent epitome of Vosne profundity boasts ultra-fine tannins and finishes with superb length. Laurent opines that this site needs support for its fundamental richness, and he saw to it that the fruit was lightly chaptalized in order to bring-in the finished wine at around 13%. I would look for two decades of enrichment to your life if you can get hold of some of this. 93-94 points"
