Origin & Terroir
Carefully selected grapes from vineyards throughout the Wachau valley are vinified to Fresco Frizzante. The grapes are hand-picked from both steep terraced vineyards and
vineyards on the banks of the Danube. The wine reflects the unique climate and the poor primary rock soils of the Wachau.
Fresco is a cuvée of 60% Rivaner, 30% Riesling with some Grüner Veltliner and Muskateller to complete the blend. Rivaner contributes the fresh, slightly greenish fruit and lightness of the wine. Riesling adds elegance, a fresh acidity and delicate fruit aromas while Grüner Veltliner and Muskateller round off this fresh and fruity wine.
Fresco Frizzante is a sparkling wine from the Wachau. The grapes were harvested at Steinfeder level.
After gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation the cuvée was created. Sugar and cultivated yeast were added to the cuvée to initiate a second fermentation in a pressure tank (Méthode-Charmat). The C02 that evolved during the second fermentation was dissolved in the wine and resulted in a lively and fresh sparkling wine with a pleasant mousse. The sparkling wine was finished off with a dosage to create a perfectly balanced style.
Bright straw yellow, very fine mousse. Offering aromas of gooseberry, mint and some acacia blossom backened by hints of ripe apricot. Delicate and elegant on the palate, the tangy acidity and the carbonation add to the liveliness of the wine. The well-integrated dosage gently woos the palate.
Serve well chilled at 9°C- directly from the fridge. Fresco Frizzante is a perfect aperitif and party-wine and accompanies antipasti and cold snacks.
