The 2016 Bourgogne Rouge offers ample red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, what you might call a “buxom” Bourgogne Rouge. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp, slightly tart red fruit with just a touch of creaminess toward the finish. Fine.

“There is ample wood influence on both the nose and the palate, indeed to the point that the aromas have trouble being appreciated and it sweetens the finish. This is not really in the traditional style of Tollot and it's much too oaky for me plus it's an open question as to whether it will ultimately integrate but I have my doubts.”
