(steel vat, bottling, end Feb 2020) dark robe. The nose shows a coulis, stewed ripeness of fruit, much mulberry, raspberry liqueur, lozenges a-plenty, is entertaining. The palate bears a concentrated heart after a bright attack, the tannins with tempo, rigour; there’s evident sun in this. There are mineral notes along the second half, iron. It has character, collects the vintage well, is like a ripe Crozes from Gervans, the northern sector of Crozes. 40% destemmed. 13.7°.
