The 2017 Juliénas exhibits aromas of raspberries, Griotte cherry and cocoa, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and open-knit palate that’s more concentrated than Chapel’s Beaujolais-Villages but scarcely more structured, sharing its satiny, transparent profile. The vines that produce this cuvée are located above the village, where the appellation touches Saint-Amour.
