(50% new oak): Medium red. More musky aromas of black raspberry and smoked ham; smells sweeter than the Bourgogne. Then fat with dark berry fruit, offering compelling sweetness and ripe, fine-grained tannins. Bachelet says this wine is more closed than it was in November, but I find it quite pliant--and an outperformer for its appellation.
