Des Ouches 2018 Bourgueil "Igoranda" 750ml

Thomas and Denis Gambier are 8th generation winemakers who specialize in red wines made from Cabernet Franc. In case you're wondering, Igoranda was the border between the old Anjou and Touraine regions. Grown in mostly gravelly soil with traditional farming techniques, manually harvested, and completed destemmed before crushing. Fermentation takes place in cement vats using indigenous yeasts. Aged in oak and unfiltered.

On the nose, expressive notes of violet, raspberry, and dark stone fruit. Echoes of the nose on the palate with firm, fine tannins, coffee, and some minerality on the long, complex finish. Try serving with pork rillons - a specialty of Touraine!
