The Loacker 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Corte Pavone Fior di Meliloto (with 2,000 bottles made from organic and biodynamic fruit) is an angular and etched wine (from sand, limestone and schistous galestro terrain) with the tannic definition and the acidity to maintain a rigid and upright personality. These are some of the qualities you look for in a cellar-worthy vintage such as 2016. With only 2,000 bottles made, Fior di Meliloto is one of three new single-vineyard Brunellos on offer from this estate, and the character of this wine is tight, nervous and needy of more time to evolve and soften. I have moved the drinking window up accordingly.
