About:

"At the foot of the Maures Mountains, west of the Côtes de Provence, is the Castle of Coulerette. On a small hill the vineyard presents its branches, south facing the bay of the Levant, and plunges towards the Mediterranean next to Port-Cros and Porquerolles. The Castle of Coulerette, meaning "little coulet" in Provençal was acquired by Gabriel Meffre in 1969, and concentrates within it the sources of the Maures. Taken over in 1990 by his daughter Sylvette Brechet, assisted by his two son Laurent and Julien, it has old vines deeply rooted, which will draw strength and vigor in the stony clay soil, especially in times of drought." -- Winemaker

Grape Varieties: GRENACHE 70% - CINSAULT 20 % - ROLLE 10%

Winemaking: The grapes are picked by machine and by hand, after very specific levies, which give the harvest order. The cellar is equipped with a modern reception. The grapes are picked early morning freshness. They are pressed gently in a pneumatic press and the must is racked to the winery concrete, thermo-regulated by low temperature flags. Cold settling and long fermentation at 16 ° C in order to preserve the aromas.

Ageing: Ageing 6 months in tanks on fine lees, except Rolles high in 500L barrels of two wines.

Tasting: A bright pink, pale salmon with purple tints. A seductive nose, aromas of strawberry, wild peach, citrus and small flowers. The palate displays an astonishing volume, greedy and balanced with a fresh and mineral finish.

Sommelier Tips: Serve at 10 ° C as an aperitif and a typical Mediterranean cuisine (aioli, brandade, sea urchins, peas chichades), more exotic dishes (fusion food, Indian curry, sushi, tagines, Korean Barbecue) or the great classics of the Sea (rock fish, red mullet fillets, bouillabaisse).
