The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Farnito opens to an inky dark appearance and heavy black fruit flavors of dried blackberry and prune. This wine portrays a hearty and bold fruit profile that speaks more of the dry and hot 2012 vintage than it does the Tuscany wine character. The results are a chunky and thick. The mouthfeel shows ample power both in terms of concentration and alcoholic heft.

Antonio Michael Zaccheo's Carpineto operates in several important Tuscan appellations including Chianti Classico and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The past 12 months have seen big changes at the Montepulciano property with the completion of a 5,000-square-meter winery, a 150-kw solar panel system, roof ventilation and other technological innovations. The estate also added eight hectares of high density vineyards to its holdings.
