Cantina Terlano 2016 Pinot Bianco 750ml

Pinot Bianco is a common Italian name for the white variety of French origin. It is much more widely grown in Italy than in France, and in the North, including: Trentino, Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy and is PRIZED in Alto Adige. Here, it is considered to produce the region’s finest whites and one of the most important varieties for Terlan. This expression is derived from stainless steel fermentation and maturation – that amplifies its purity and minerality. Expect crisp notes of pear, lime, camomile flowers, with medium plus weight and a slightly oily texture. Will pair well with hors d’oeuvres, salmon, tuna carpaccio; burrata cheese; avocado salad an also regional dishes like spinach spaetzle and plenty of scallops!

Considered one of the most important varieties for Alto Adige and the winery.  Grapes are harvested from vineyards 250-900m and are pressed whole cluster.  Temp-controlled fermentation followed by stainless steel maturation with some time on the lees.  If you have not yet tasted the wines from Terlan, I strongly suggest you take advantage as they are considered one of Italy's great and one of the top examples from the area.
