Join us for an evening of amazing wine and great food at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar on Tuesday, April 30th as we host a Calera Wine Company dinner. Upon arrival guests will enjoy a glass or two of the 2016 Central Coast Chardonnay and passed canapés. Once seated, you will be treated to an exquisite four course menu created by Chef Alex Chen which has been paired with a selection of current and back vintage Pinot Noirs from Calera. As guest of honour, Brian Bostwick the Export Sales Manager for Calera, will be in attendance to talk about the wines and the winery.
Calera was created in 1974 when Josh Jensen purchased his first high elevation parcel of land near Mount Harlan in California. Inspired by time he had spent in France, part of which was spent working at Domaine Dujac, Josh started planting vineyards in 1975 and set out to craft Chardonnay and Pinot Noir based wines whose quality would rival the greatest the French could produce. His efforts succeeded and over the course of many decades Josh Jensen became a legend in the world of wine by following his own uncompromising vision, never chasing trends, and always striving for the extraordinary. Because of this, Calera’s wines are venerated by collectors for their purity and elegance, each one a liquid study in terroir. This dinner will showcase the greatness of his wines.
