Bodegas Peique 2011 Vinedos Viejos Tinto 750ml

Bright purple. Dark berries, cherry pit, licorice and smoky minerals on the expansive nose. Sappy, penetrating and pure, with sweet blackberry and bitter cherry flavors displaying a faintly medicinal edge. Taut, focused and energetic wine with very good finishing clarity, silky tannins and mineral persistence. Plays richness and power off of elegance with a sure hand and has the balance to age. These vines are reportedly over 70 years old now.
