Deep, inky red with purple highlights. On the nose, perfumed dark berries and violets. Concentrated flavours of blackberries, dark cherries, mint and violets on a rich,full-bodied palate with ample soft, ripe tannins and gentle well-integrated acidity. Ideal with most red meat dishes.
Bleasdale is Australia's second-oldest family-owned winery, and the leading producer from the Langhorne Creek area. The wines of this region are distinctive for their upfront fruit and soft textural feel. "The Old Press" is a limited-release bottling, selected from among the best fruit from Bleasdale's 50 hectares of vineyards. The wine is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Malbec. Tannins are elegant and silky, and maturation in French oak barrels has added complexity to the soft round palate which finishes with a lovely sweet fruit richness. "The Old Press" wine drinks well in its youth and will age gracefully with quality cellaring.
