Sometimes called The Great Aussie Red, this blend was first introduced by our winemakers in the 1880s when it was labelled ‘Claret’. Resurrected in the 1950s it has over the years become more and more popular, until it could now be international regarded as an Australian winemaking institution. Certainly our winemakers do it better than anyone else on the planet.
Our 2013 blend is an easy to drink style with loads of ripe flavours, soft tannins and a wonderfully persistent finish. It goes well with strong cheeses like cheddar or gorgonzola and is the perfect partner for a juicy, grilled barbecue steak.
