The Annex Kloof winery describe themselves as being the 'Malbec King of South Africa', a title we're sure isn't in much dispute as this is the only straight Malbec we've seen out of South Africa; but fortunately it is a very successful example none the less. This has all the upfront fruit you'd expect from an Argentine Malbec, but with more structure, depth and earthy hints to it. Full bodied, with lots of chewy tannins, this wine is a perfect example of place and variety. If you like your wines big and intense, this'll be great on its own but is certainly a brilliant match for a steak.
