Marquis Wine Cellars is very excited to announce the return of Allen Meadows, The Burghound, to Vancouver this coming September. Allen's expertise and passion for the wines of Burgundy will be on display at a series of five consumer tastings that
Marquis Wine Cellars will be hosting at several local restaurants and clubs.

Allen Meadows - A Brief Bio
Allen Meadows was a finance executive for 21 years, holding a variety of positions, including stints as the senior vice-president and director of corporate development for Great Western Financial. In 1999 he elected to retire to author a book on the subject of Burgundy but a year later decided to found Burghound.com, a quarterly review that is devoted exclusively to the coverage of Burgundy/Pinot Noir with bi-annual coverage of Champagnes/Sparklers.
Burghound.com was the first of its kind to offer specialized, and more importantly, exhaustive coverage of a specific wine region. The first Issue was released in January of 2001 and there are now subscribers in more than 50 countries and nearly all 50 states. Meadows spends over four months a year in Burgundy and visits more than 300 domaines during that time.

Burgundy 101 Seminar
A sit down tasting with Allen featuring classic examples of all the major appellations of Burgundy, with a few hidden gems thrown in for good measure. Allen will guide us through each wine as he speaks about the appellation, producer and recent trends and developments affecting Burgundy.

Bistro Pastis Lunch
For those of you unable to join us for dinner on Saturday, why not start your Sunday in a leisurely fashion by join us for lunch at John Blakely's Fourth Avenue fixture, Bistro Pastis. This meal will feature the wines from some of the lesser known Burgundy appellations with a sprinkling of more recognizable names included for good measure. As you happily eat and drink away, Allen will discuss each wine and grower, while providing an overview of Burgundy.
