Château Puygureaud 2010 Rose - $14.90 "Château Puygueraud is a highly respected Château from Bordeaux' Côtes de Francs sub-region. Of course Bordeaux is far more famous for its hearty red wines, but it's also an area where one can get some unique and flavourful rosé as well. The style of rosé here is far more structured than you'll find from most other places as this wine is made from Merlot and Cab Franc made in the saignee method. A beautiful dark pink in colour, you can smell the Bordeaux heritage in this wine with its notes of cassis, red currant and a faint hint of cedar. That leads into to a fuller-bodied wine that is bone dry and refreshing; the perfect go between of red and white wines. Matetic EQ 2007 Sauvignon Blanc - $17.90 "Made with the 242 clone which gives tropical and citrus notes, given a short skin maceration before pressing, and fermented in stainless steel. Some small stainless steel barrels (300 litres) are also used for work with the lees. Brightly fruited with a sweet, rounded nose. The palate is bright with rounded fruit and high acidity. Really fresh, showing a nice juicy character. |

Serenata Negroamaro Puglia - $11.90 "Negroamaro, also Negro amaro, is a red wine grape variety native to southern Italy. It is grown almost exclusively in Apulia and particularly in Salento, the peninsula which can be visualised as the 'heel' of Italy. The grape can indeed produce wines very deep in color. Wines made from Negroamaro tend to be very rustic in character, combining perfume with an earthy bitterness. The grape produces some of the best red wines of Apulia, particularly when blended with the highly scented Malvasia Nera, as in the case of Salice Salentino. This wine is rich in cassis and earth on the nose with just a hint of herb, with fruit revealed being deep raspberry, prunes and sour cherry that stand tall on the finish, rounding gently off to a smooth finish." |

2009 Grachies Cotes de Gascogne Blanc - $12.90 "The Domaine de Grachies is a great value offering from France's south western region of Gascony. While not well known to most customers, Gascony is indeed a great spot for quality, unique wines, and generally at very reasonable prices. This fruity, expressive wine has scents of white flower and citrus on the nose and is followed up by flavours reminiscent of grapefruit and papaya. This clean and un-oaked wine is great on its own, but would go great with something like a scallop ceviche or shrimp salad." Buy |

Kaapzicht 2009 Estate Red - $15.90
Daniel's wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Shiraz that saw 23 months in French oak of which a portion was new. Dark garnet with purple edge in colour. Red berry fruit, vanilla, roasted spice and beetroot on the nose. Same on palate with cassis and chocolate also coming through. Good acid balance gives a fresh liveliness and a fruity succulence on the mid-palate. Medium body overall, supple tannins and good length. Red meat begs for this wine as its partner. |

2009 Bodegas Aruspide 'Trio' Blanco
- $9.90 "Offering terrific value, this Spanish white is a blend of Chardonnay, Verdejo and Airén. From the Chardonnay you get weight, along with the tropical fruit notes. The Verdejo provides the backbone of acidity and the grassy/citrus notes, while the Airén provides a lovely aromatic lift. As a whole, this delicate (only 11.5% alc.) and un-oaked wine is a pleasant and easy drinking treat. This is also a great pairing for light seafood dishes, rice based meals or for cocktail hour." |

Makia Estate Sauvignon Blanc - $11.90 "This is another great value treat from our friends at Makia Estate! Although not the most common grape grown in Argentina, Sauvignon Blanc from the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza can produce a very distinct and unique expression of this variety. The Makia has aromatic notes of white flowers, orange oil and a bit of pomelo. Flavours are quite reminiscent of a Pinot Gris, with good weight to the wine (considering the price) and framed by fresh acidity and a long finish. For years we've been selling this wine and it's always been quite good and quite cheap. Medium ruby color, with an expressive nose of earth, ripe cherries, and pie spice.
