Wine Returns
Returns will be accepted in accordance the following provisions. All returns will be brought back to point the of purchase, Marquis Wine Cellars, 1034 Davie Street, during the following hours only, Monday to Friday 11:00 am – 5:00pm. All wine returns will be in resalable condition with front and back labels complete and intact, the capsules intact and not broken. Marquis reserves the right to issue a head office cheque for wine returns.
For any refunds over $200.00 Marquis will issue a cheque from our accounting department, which may take up to two weeks and may be subject to a restocking charge of 15%.
It is at Marquis’ sole discretion whether to accept for return and refund the wines that were purchased more than two years prior to the date such wines are tendered for return and whether such returns are accepted for store credit only.
Defective Wine
Marquis return policy is based on the terms and conditions outlined by the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB). The determination as to whether or not to accept a wine returned as defective is at the discretion of Marquis.
Examples of Defective Wine are as follows:
- Short filled products
- Products containing foreign material – (subject to our inspection)
- Corked wine(the bottle must be at least ¾ full)
- Wine still ‘working” secondary fermentation (the bottle e must be ¾ full when returned)
Some wine is naturally made and may throw sediment, or have tartaric crystals in it. This is a natural occurrence and is a sign of a well made, minimally manipulated wine, and is not acceptable grounds for return. Products damaged by customers do not qualify for a return.
BCLDB will keep records on file for a period of six months and may contact you regarding your wine return.
En Primeur
En Primeur is a French term for a wine that is pre-sold on a futures basis before it has been bottled (and includes Bordeaux futures). The client pays the full retail cost at the time of their order. The wine is then shipped two years later. Marquis consolidates all of our orders and ships them in temperature controlled containers.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Marquis reserves the right not to accept your order, in which case we will not have any further obligation to you.
- We may accept the whole or part of your order, both in respect of the kinds of products ordered and the quantity of products ordered. The price will be adjusted accordingly.
- Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, except for those wines that have historically proven to generate demand far in excess of our ability to satisfy that demand. In the case of these wines, preference will be give to those customers who balance their orders of such “high demand wines” with other wines from this offering.
- We will be deemed not to have accepted your order until we have debited your credit card. Even if we accept your order, there will not be any agreement between us if you are under the age of 19 years at the time you submit your order will be null and void.
- Confirmation of your order will be mailed and emailed to you.
- No discounts of any kind are applicable.
- Our total liability to you for non-delivery of any product is limited to the purchase price of the products.
- Cancellation of any order after it has been processed is subject to a $50 fee per invoice.
- Marquis is not liable to you for typographical errors on this website and you are solely responsible for reliance on any information contained herein.
- Prices include all taxes. Bottle deposits will be added to the prices listed.
- All wines will be held until all products have arrived for order consolidation.
- Marquis reserves the right to organize logistics for the shipment in order to meet our delivery schedule. Marquis will not release orders to clients until the scheduled delivery time.
- Marquis requires you to give us 24 hours notice prior to you collecting En Primeur wine orders from our store
DELIVERY
- Delivery within downtown Vancouver, Vancouver, West Vancouver & North Vancouver is free – one case minimum
- For orders outside Vancouver proper, or less than a case, MWC will use the services of a courier.
- Current courier charges will be applied to your order.
- MWC will attempt to deliver the goods twice after which your order will be returned to MWC. You will then be responsible for collecting the order from us.
- All orders will be delivered within four business days unless otherwise specified.
- MWC reserves the right to cancel or not accept orders.
- All persons placing orders or returning wine must be 19 years of age or older.
- Proof of age must be validated with acceptable identifications at the time of delivery. Passport, drivers license with photograph, BCID card.
- MWC will not deliver to a person who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
- All weekly deliveries will be completed before Friday, 5:00pm PST.
- We are not permitted to ship outside the province of British Columbia
- Prices and availability subject to change without notice
- Orders placed through are secure web site will not be charged to your credit card account until you have been contacted with confirmation by Marquis Wine Cellars that your order has been filled.
- Tastings can be reserved by calling Marquis Wine Cellars at 604-684-0045 or by e-mail info@marquis-wines.com.
- All tastings will be paid for in advance, tickets are transferable but not refundable. Please refrain from wearing any strong perfumes or colognes.
