South Africa

With a relatively short winemaking history, South Africa is considered a new world wine country with its first wine grapes pressed on February 2, 1659. Today, South Africa is the world’s seventh largest producer of wine, with almost 113,000 hectares of vineyard. Chenin Blanc is the most commonly planted grape variety in the country.
