"The 2007 Raupo Pinot Noir has a fairly similar bouquet to the Home Vineyard, although the plumy element is more pronounced and there is a touch of liquorices that lends it another dimension. Fine structure, sappy plumy black fruit, nice weight, quite linear towards the finish but always very pure and harmonious. It will be interesting to see just how this Pinot ages. Michael Seresin's estate in Marlborough continues to go from strength to strength, exploring new techniques to apply biodynamic principles that are zealously pursued. This year, they have some intriguing micro-production Pinot Noirs that reach new heights of quality, if alas not quantity.
