"Mooiplaas, meaning beautiful farm, is situated high in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch, heart of the Cape Winelands. You have to be dedicated to find the winery as signage is almost nonexistent. Here the Roos Family produce a range of acclaimed and award winning boutique style wines that reflect their unique terroir. The family has farmed this estate since 1963. In 1995, Tielman Roos, Mooiplas viticulturist, and his wife Janine established their 60 hectare Private Nature Reserve, dedicated to the preservation of endangered fynbos species. Tielman is regarded as one of the regions foremost conservationists with an incredible knowledge of the indigenous fauna and flora. They produce a range of environmentally friendly wines rooted in tradition and artisan techniques to reflect their unique terroir. For the Lemongrass, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc make up this flavourful blend.
