Mandrarossa Nero D'Avola 750ml
The Mandrarossa Nero D'Avola shows the true potential of Sicilian red wine. It is richly textured with layers of damson, plum and liquorice spice flavours. It is elegant but powerful. It is also excellent with pasta dishes, braised red meats, game and hard spicy cheese.

Canaletto 2011 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 750ml
"Montepulciano is the great red grape of central Italy, where it produces medium bodied wines with low tannin similar to Pinot Noir. The Emotivo has a deep ruby red colour with violet highlights. As expected, the wine is soft with ripe cherry flavours, with hints of floral spice. The wine is smooth with a velvety body, soft tannins and delicious acidity. Versatile on the table as well, this will pair nicely with pasta, seafood and hors d'oeuvres." - Tasted by Kevin McKinnon Marquis Wine Cellars

Giuseppe Cortese 2012 Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 750ml
“Translated as little sweet thing, Dolcetto is traditionally the first red ready to drink. Expect purple coloured tints and lovely, youthful aromatics of violets. Slightly heavier in weight than traditional Dolcetto wines, with plenty of dark cherries, berries and chalky mineral aromas.” 87 Pts, The Wine Advocate Issue #207

Giuseppe Cortese 1996 Barbaresco "Rabaja" Riserva DOCG 750ml
“Made from a parcel of old vines, this wine sees 30 months of wood aging. Shows a very dark, brooding ruby color and displays an evolved intense nose of animal, leather, balsam, and tar. On the palate the wine is masculine and authoritative, full of rich dark fruit and plenty of tannins that indicate that this wine is still on the young side. This Riserva will be released for the 1999 and 2001 vintages. A tremendous wine.” 92 points, The Wine Advocate

Giacomo Fenocchio 2009 Barolo "Villero" DOCG 750ml
The Villero cru is in the Castiglione Falletto commune - known for producing wines of great elegance. Average vine age here is 60 years. On the nose there is pretty red cherry, tar, floral notes, eucalyptus and loads of earthiness. The Nebbiolo shines through, with power and complexity, and well integrated, drying tannins. This wine is young and needs time to soften out a bit.

Giacomo Fenocchio 2009 Barolo "Cannubi" DOCG 750ml
The Cannubi cru is one of the most historic and famous, characterized by its “completeness”. This wine has intense aromas of red cherry, flowers, minerality, tar and earth. It presents itself as the most approachable of the three 2009’s on offer, and still maintains great power and complexity.

Giacomo Fenocchio 2009 Barolo "Bussia" DOCG 750ml
Fruit for this wine comes from vineyards where the average vine age is 30 years. Both the nose and palate are broad with prominent notes of earth and spiciness. The 2009 vintage was a warmer one and this imparts a wealth of ripe red cherry, tar and undertones of plum. This wine is young and needs time to age which will integrate its powerful, gripping tannin structure.

Bertani 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC 750ml
"The 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a big, enveloping wine loaded with wild cherries, licorice, new leather and dried flowers, not to mention considerable personality. The tannins are just a touch rough around the edges, and I am not sure they will ever soften given the heat of the vintage, but the 2003 should continue to drink well for at least a handful of years. Ideally the wine is best paired with hearty dishes. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. 91 points" - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #193

Bertani 2001 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC 750ml
"The 2001 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a joyous wine to taste. This is a fairly restrained style for Amarone. Although the wine reveals limited complexity, it offers superb overall balance and an irresistible, caressing texture on the palate. The perfumed red cherry fruit is remarkably fresh for a wine of this age and the plumpness balances the wine’s tannins with notable elegance. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018. 92 points" - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #179

Aldo Conterno 2009 Nebbiolo Langhe DOC "Il Favot" 750ml
"Conterno’s 2009 Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot is a good introduction to the wines of this historic estate. Sweet red berries, flowers, French oak, anise and tobacco waft from the glass. This is a decidedly medium-bodied, fragrant wine. The Favot is Conterno’s entry-level Nebbiolo and is made from the estate’s younger vineyards, all of which are typically less than 20 years old. It is the only Nebbiolo aged in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. 90 points" - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate #203

Rocca delle Macie 'Campo Maccione' Morellino di Scansano 750ml
Morellino di Scansano, an up and coming southern Tuscan DOC, is part of the coastal Maremma viticultural area which found fame in the 1970s through Bolgheri's super-Tuscan stars like Ornellaia and Sassicaia; while still being a place where some good values can be found. A soft and fruit forward blend of Sangiovese 90% Cabernet 5% Merlot 5%. Expressive notes of violets, raspberry flavors and subtle tannins make this a wonderful choice for spicy dishes.

Antoniolo 2008 Gattinara "Le Castelle" DOCG 750ml
“The 2008 Gattinara Le Castelle is the most immediate of the estate’s single-vineyard wines in this vintage. It opens with a solid blast of fruit, but never goes too far from there. The French oak, while not overly intrusive, does appear to attenuate the finish. Next to the other wines in this lineup, the Castelle is a bit less distinctive and polished. The wine does open up nicely in the glass, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here. A sweet, inviting finish rounds things out nicely. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.” 90 points, The Wine Advocate #203

Antoniolo 2008 Gattinara "Osso San Grato" DOCG 750ml
“A model of understatement, the 2008 Gattinara Osso San Grato is pure class and elegance. In 2008, the Osso San Grato stands out for its weightless depth and richness. Sweet dark cherries, plums, tobacco and incense all wrap around the palate in this deceptively medium-bodied Gattinara. Sweet floral notes add lift on the finely knit finish. Osso San Grato remains one of the great, iconic wines in Italy. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2028.” 92 points, The Wine Advocate #203

Antoniolo 2010 Coste Della Sesia Nebbiolo Juvenia DOC 750ml
The translation for Juvenia is young – and that is exactly what this wine is: young Nebbiolo meant to be enjoyed in its youth. This fresh, clean, elegantly styled red is produced in stainless steel tanks and is designed to be consumed in the first five years of its life. Both the nose and palate exude loads of raspberry intertwined with slight hints of spice. The exceptional balance and harmony of this wine is a nod to the excellent 2010 vintage.

Antoniolo 2012 Coste Della Sesia Rosato Bricco Lorella DOC 750ml
This lovely rosé is named after Lorella Zoppis Antoniolo. Reminiscent of a Loire Valley rosé, this Nebbiolo based wine is light and dry. A pink treat that boasts lots of raspberry and minerality, and is fresh enough to drink all day. It will pair well with a mixture of West coast cuisine.

Antoniolo 2012 Erbaluci di Caluso DOCG 750ml
