A well-loved favourite made from Sangiovese, the noble grape of Chianti, by a Barolo trained winemaker on the 'not so pricey' Adriatic coast. Deliciously soft, cherry-scented Sangiovese from the great Farnese Estate. Full of enticing cherry, plum and violet aromas and a silky mouthful with layers of lip-staining bramble and cherry fruit. Winemaker, Filippo, clinched a top trophy in Tuscany in 2003, knocking several much more expensive contenders off the podium and his 2004 followed suit with a 'Gran Menzione' at Vin Italy; Italy's most prestigious showcase. Goes down a treat with red meats, pizza and fresh tomato pasta like Spaghetti Bolognese.
