The name of this wine commemorates William Duckitt, who settled in Darling in the early 1800?s, and who was the scion of one of the region's most prolific families. Many generations hence Peter Duckitt is the viticulturalist responsible for the vineyards at Cloof and Burghers Post. Dark garnet in colour with similar edge. Pencil shaving, cassis and red fruits on the nose. Lots of tart/sweet cranberry components on the palate with vanilla, plum and blackberries underneath. Good acid balance with supple tannins, medium to full bodied. Long finish.
