This Carmenère is scandalous and scandalously delicious. Once confused for another variety, this “lost grape of Bordeaux” has been rediscovered and adapted as Chile’s signature grape. This Carmenère goes great with anything on the grill, dishes with some spice, take-out food, a dinner party, or just hanging out with friends...whichever comes first!

Vina Falernia Pedro Ximenez 750ml
Pedro Ximenez, or PX, as it is known, is a thin-skinned variety grown principally in Spain. Normally it produces very sweet juice; any sherry that is not fully dry has almost certainly been sweetened with wine made from PX grapes that have been dried in the sun. This rendition of the grape is a unique, flavourful and un-oaked. It gives off armoas of white peaches, lime and a bit of almond. The palate follows through with those flavours in a fleshy wine with fresh acid. This wine has good versatility and can be enjoyed on its own while making a great pairing for any tuna dish.

De Martino 2011 Organic Maipo Valley Cabernet Malbec 750ml
Elegant floral notes lended from the Malbec combine with aromas of tobacco and spice typical of Cabernet. They are framed by vanilla notes contributed by the oak aging. On the palate, the acidity and freshness are prominent but are balanced by soft, round tannins.

Vina Chocalan Inspira Sauvignon Blanc 750ml
The fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards located on the hillsides of the Melipilla area, in the Maipo Valley of Chile. They are planted on granitic, well drained soils. 2013 will be remembered as one of the coolest vintages for Chile in the past decade. A slow, cool growing season made for elegant, aromatic wines with lower alcohol levels and fresh acidity. Light yellow colour. This Sauvignon Blanc shows lemongrass and citrus notes and a touch of herbal aromas. High acidity on the palate with fresh lemon flavours. Dry finish with lingering lime and grapefruit notes.

Luis Felipe Edwards 2009 Pinot Noir Family Selection 750ml
In 1976, Luis Felipe Edwards Sr. purchased the Fundo San José estate in Puquillay, Colchagua Valley. From those original 60 hectares of old vines, Luis grew the estate into Chile's largest family-owned winery. Their Pinot Noir comes from the cool, coastal region of Leyda; an up-and-coming region, that is building its reputation around the quality of the Pinot produced there. With classic Pinot notes of ripe cherry, fresh earth and hints of clove and cinnamon on the nose, leading into a softly structured, flavourful and easy drinking wine. This silky and delicious wine is a natural pairing for salmon, halibut or Thanksgiving leftovers.

Matetic 2010 Corralillo Syrah 750ml
"The 2010 Corralillo Syrah comes from two hillside parcels planted on granitic soils with differing clay components and managed biodynamically. It has a fresh, floral bouquet with blackberry, blueberry and violet aromas that are well defined, offering a touch of licorice with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, bold tannins, good acidity and a solid, weighty blackberry, licorice and clove-tinged finish that shows good persistency. This is very fine. Drink now-2017. 90 points" - Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com #204

Light straw-coloured, it has a lovely perfume of spring flowers, citrus, and white peach with a touch of petrol. A delightful tipple and a perfect pairing for sunshine, BBQ chicken or Thai food.

Concha Y Toro Don Melchor Cab.Sauv.750ml
"Glass-staining ruby. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, cherry compote and potpourri, made more complex by notes of musky herbs and tobacco. The yield in '07 was reportedly pitifully low but this wine comes off as lithe and energetic, with excellent clarity and sweet red fruit character. Finishes with noteworthy length, clarity and a juicy red fruit character, and with very soft tannins. This will drink well young or with age. I also had the chance to re-visit the 2006 Don Melchor, and it has put on weight and richness since last year, but with no loss of vivacity. I'd keep my hands off my bottles for at least another five years. 92 points" - By Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June '11

Terranoble 2010 Carmenere Gran Reserva 750ml
"Opaque violet color. Blackcurrant, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, cola, licorice and sexy oak on the nose. Smooth, ripe and sappy, with alluring sweetness nicely balanced and energized by harmonious acidity. Concentrated and sweet, but without any suggestion of heaviness. Finishes long and spicy, with firm but ripe tannins. This would be interesting to taste next to some high-end Napa wines. 90 points" - Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 10

Koyle 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
"I was highly impressed with this wine. Chile has always been home to some of the best value Cabernets in the world, and this certainly falls into that mold. An impressively robust wine, with chewy tannins and classic notes of cassis, cedar, mint and fresh coffee, this brawny wine is a brilliant pairing with hearty beef dishes." - Tasted by Andrew Melville, Marquis Wine Cellars

Vina Chocalan Carmenere 750ml
A brooding purple-red in colour, this wine gives off a wide variety of aromas, from strawberries, cherries, and spices to black pepper with a touch of coffee and smoke from the oak. The rich and flavourful palate shows deep concentration and elegant, velvety tannins that lead into a well-balanced wine with a persistent finish. Lamb and Carmenère is a great combo, but I also like to enjoy a wine like this all on its own.
