“The history of this Château date back to the 15th century but its current history started in 1951 when Albert Gosset (of Champagne fame) purchased it and started improving its winemaking capabilities. In 2009 Baudry-Dutour acquired the Château and since then they have work to improve upon its already impressive legacy. This wine is crafted from vines between 45 and 70 years old. Hand harvested and 100% de-stemmed, the wines are fermented in stainless steel and then racked into barrels (up to 15% new) where they undergo malo-lactic fermentation and aging for 15 months. Deep garnet with a nose full of black fruits and pepper. Generous tannins, vibrant acidity and a hefty mouthfeel. Powerful and racy, this is wine that is approachable now but that will keep in the cellar for another 5 to 7 years.” - Jon Ellison, Marquis Wine Cellars Loire Valley expert/buyer
