We poured this wine at the last New Product Salon and it was a hit through and through, the wine was expressive and full of life. As with what you would expect with any Aglianico, it had good saturation of colour that looked reminiscent of Petite Sirah, yet the palette was not extremely dense and dark, more light and still somewhat more gentle and graceful. That is one of the lovely things about Italian wines, is that even if they may have more density and weight, often it is not at the sacrifice of finesse and freshness.
The nose and palette was reminiscent of an array of black to purple fruit from fresh plums to blackberries and ending with a mineral and sandalwood quality that added intrigue and novelty to the palette.
