The grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz & Malbec) used to make this wine are sourced from Backsberg's top performing high density vineyards. Only made in outstanding years, this is the farm's signature wine. Dark garnet in colour. Deep aromas of cassis, raspberry and tobacco on the nose. Extended skin contact and ageing in small French oak barriques have contributed added complexity via cedar and vanilla characters. This blend has a savoury component that adds punch to the mid-palate weight and finishes long into the night.
